What authoring tools does zipBoard support?

zipBoard supports eLearning content from authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Presenter, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter and iSpring, and should be able to view any valid SCORM or hosted project. Live annotations have extra limits: Gomo and Captivate content is supported, Articulate only partly (Rise 360 yes, Storyline 360 no), and SCORM courses published in Adapt, Elucidate or Lectora are not supported.

Which authoring tools does zipBoard support?

For eLearning projects, zipBoard supports projects created with authoring tools such as:

  • Articulate 360
  • Articulate Storyline
  • Articulate Presenter
  • Adobe Captivate
  • Adobe Presenter
  • iSpring

If you have created a valid SCORM project or a hosted project with any other tool, zipBoard should have no problem viewing it. If you'd like our dev team to look at a specific file, share it with us.

Which authoring tool content supports live annotations?

  • Gomo: Yes. zipBoard supports live annotations on courses and content created with Gomo.
  • Captivate: Yes. zipBoard supports live annotations on courses and content created with Captivate.
  • Articulate: Yes, with some limitations (see below).

Articulate limitations

  • Courses created with Rise 360 are supported, but Storyline 360 courses are not.
  • Rise 360 courses must be published as SCORM 2004 or SCORM 1.2.
  • Courses published on the web using Rise 360 are not supported.
  • You can upload Rise 360 courses to any web app or website and add the URL to zipBoard for live annotation, but this is not supported if the website opens the course in a new tab.
  • Live annotations are not supported when a course is uploaded to a website or web app and its share link is added to zipBoard as a URL.

Other limitations

  • zipBoard does not support SCORM courses published in Adapt, Elucidate or Lectora.
  • For courses published in an LMS, if the URL does not change, we cannot guarantee that live annotations will work correctly.
