Troubleshooting SCORM Uploads and Playback in zipBoard
If your SCORM file won't upload or play in zipBoard, first check that the zip file unzips correctly and that the course's start file sits in the top-level folder. This page also covers Adobe Captivate reporting settings and the Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline 360 limits for live annotations.
Why can't I play my SCORM file in zipBoard?
The most common cause is the location of the start file: it must be in the top-level folder of your SCORM package, not inside a subfolder. If it is in a subfolder, zipBoard can't play the file.
- Play your SCORM course directly in your browser to confirm the course itself works.
- If it plays in the browser, open the SCORM folder and check where the start file is.
- Move the start file to the top-level folder if needed, zip the package again, and upload it to zipBoard.
If the file still doesn't play, send it to support@zipboard.co so the team can take a look.
What should I do if my zip file upload is stuck?
First make sure the zip file isn't corrupted: it should unzip without errors on your computer. If the zip file is fine and the upload is still stuck, contact support@zipboard.co right away for help.
Why can't I access my Adobe Captivate SCORM file in zipBoard?
For Captivate courses, the reporting feature must be turned off in the SCORM package. If reporting is on, turn it off, publish the course again, and upload the new SCORM file to zipBoard.
If the course still doesn't open, contact support@zipboard.co.
Why don't live annotations work on my Articulate SCORM course?
Live annotations work only on Articulate courses that meet all of these requirements:
- The course was created and published in Rise 360. Live annotations are not supported for courses created in Storyline 360.
- The course is published as SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004.
- The course is published for LMS, not published for web.
- The course does not open as a website or web app in a new tab.
If your course doesn't meet these requirements, republish it with the settings above and upload it again.
