How do I review an AI-generated course for accuracy? (Articulate AI Assistant, Coursebox, Mindsmith, Synthesia and others)

AI course builders can turn a PDF, slide deck or prompt into a draft course in minutes. The draft still needs a subject-matter expert to check it. AI tools can state things confidently that are wrong, outdated or off-policy, and they can miss what your learners need to know. This guide shows how to get an AI-generated course in front of SMEs and stakeholders in zipBoard, so every correction is captured on the exact screen, with an owner, before the course goes to your LMS.

1. Export the course from your AI builder

zipBoard reviews SCORM and HTML ZIP packages, hosted course URLs, videos and PDFs. Most AI course builders export at least one of these:

Tool Export to use for review
Articulate 360 (AI Assistant in Rise / Storyline) Publish to SCORM or web (HTML) and upload the ZIP
Coursebox SCORM 1.2/2004 or static HTML (Coursebox export options)
Mindsmith SCORM 1.2/2004 or website ZIP (Mindsmith publishing)
Synthesia, Colossyan and other AI video tools MP4 video. See Review AI avatar and training videos.
Other builders (Easygenerator, iSpring and so on) Any standard SCORM or HTML ZIP

Static vs "dynamic" SCORM: some builders offer a dynamic SCORM package, a small wrapper that loads the course from the vendor's servers. For review, a static (self-contained) SCORM or HTML export is the most reliable choice, because the package contains the whole course. If a package won't play, see I cannot play my SCORM file.

2. Upload it to zipBoard

Upload the ZIP with the start file (usually index.html) at the top level, or add the course URL. No LMS is needed. See Review a SCORM course without an LMS, Course upload requirements and Best practices for SCORM/HTML in zipBoard.

3. Invite SMEs and set a deadline

Add the SMEs who must sign off as Reviewers (the course appears in their Needs my review) and set a due date. Other stakeholders can comment through a share link. See Mandatory reviewers and Share links.

4. What to ask SMEs to check in AI-generated content

  • Facts and figures: are numbers, dates, names and references correct and current?
  • Policy and compliance: does it match your actual procedures, regulations and terminology?
  • Invented details: examples, quotes, sources or steps that don't exist in your source material.
  • Quiz questions: is the marked answer right, and are the wrong answers really wrong?
  • Gaps: anything critical from the source document that the AI left out.
  • Tone and audience: right reading level, no off-brand phrasing.

Tip: create task types such as Accuracy, Compliance, Missing content and Editorial so you can filter what must be fixed before launch. See Statuses and task types.

5. Fix, re-export and compare

Make the corrections in your AI builder, export again, and upload the result as a new version of the same course. Reviewers can open both versions side by side to confirm each issue was fixed. See Version control for eLearning and Compare two SCORM versions.
