How to Measure a Document Using Arcs

Select the Arc Tool from the measure tab. Click along the curved segment to set the start point and endpoint. zipBoard automatically calculates and displays the arc length, radius, and angle on your canvas.

When to Use the Tool?

The Arc Tool is best for determining the curved length of a circle segment or rounded path (such as curved walls, circular ductwork, or arched entryways).

How to Use the Arcs Tool?

  1. Open your PDF document
  2. Go to the measurement menu
  3. Select the Arc from the measurement menu on the markup toolbar.
  4. Click the starting point of the arc, then drag and click at the termination point of the curved line.
  5. Check the markup properties panel to ensure the correct scale is applied. Your measurement automatically updates based on the selected scale.

Verify Detail Scale First: Complex drawing sets often use distinct scales for detail callouts or rounded structures. Select or create the exact scale for that specific view before finalizing your arc measurement.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Will changing the scale on an arc annotation affect my existing straight-line measurements?

No. Scales are assigned independently per annotation. Modifying or creating a new scale for an arc markup will not reset or alter any other markups on the canvas.

Can guest reviewers make arc measurements on my drawings?

Yes. External stakeholders and guest reviewers can access the Arc / Radius tool without needing to sign up or log in.
