How to Complete Your Review in zipBoard
To mark your review complete, click the green Review Complete button in the top bar of the review view and select. This instantly notifies the content owner and updates your status to Review Completed.
The Review Status in Review View feature provides a clear, explicit signal to document owners that you have finished your review pass. When reviewing documents with external stakeholders, clients, or cross-functional teams, review cycles often stall due to silence, document owners are left guessing whether a reviewer has finished their feedback or simply taken a break.
By eliminating the need for manual follow-up emails, chat messages, or status checks, this feature brings total visibility into who has finished and who is still actively working. This behavior is completely consistent across all supported asset types in zipBoard, including PDFs, images, videos, live websites, design files, and ZIP archives.

Best Practices for Smooth Review Cycles
- Mark Completion Only on Final Pass
Click Review Complete only when you have finished all annotations for that review round so project owners know when to consolidate feedback.
- Don't Worry About Accidental Locks
Leaving feedback after marking a file done won't break your workflow or lock the review session, you can always go back and add more review as well as modify your review status.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does marking a review complete lock the file?
No. Marking a review complete is a status signal, not a permission lock. You retain full access to view the file, reply to existing comment threads, or add new annotations at any time.
What happens if I add new comments after clicking "Review Complete"?
zipBoard automatically tracks new activity. If you add a new comment or annotation after marking your review complete, your status automatically reverts back to Reviewing. The asset owner's dashboard will update accordingly without requiring a manual undo step.
How does Review Status work for Guest Reviewers?
Guest reviewers follow the exact same visual flow and confirmation steps without needing a zipBoard account. In the asset owner's detail panel, guest entries are badged with a distinct tag next to their name, maintaining full consistency in status tracking and timestamps.
