How to Install the zipBoard Browser Extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari)

To install the zipBoard browser extension (zBreviewboard), add it from the Chrome, Firefox or Edge extension store, or on Safari start a review from a zipBoard project and follow the download page. The extension is required to review live websites/URLs and courses hosted online, and to take screenshots and video recordings for review; PDFs, images, videos, audio and zipped SCORM/HTML files open in the browser without it. Which browsers does the zipBoard extension support?

Follow the section for your browser:

Can I use zipBoard with any browser?

Yes, the zipBoard web app works in any browser on any device. Only the zipBoard extension is limited to the browsers listed above, and Chrome gives the best experience.

Without the extension, you can still:

• Create new projects and open existing ones
• Read your project feeds
• Manage tasks, and upload or download task files
• Review existing boards or files
• Add or remove URLs, files, and collaborators in your projects

You need the extension to review live websites/URLs and courses hosted online, and to create new screens (screenshots and recordings) for review. PDFs, images, videos, audio and zipped SCORM/HTML files open in the browser without it.

How do I install the extension on Chrome?

1. Open the zBreviewboard page in the Chrome Web Store.
2. Click Add to Chrome.

   

3. In the pop-up, click Add Extension.

   

4. Wait for the extension to download and install. Once installed, it appears in Chrome's extensions bar.

   

How do I install the extension on Firefox?

1. Open the zBreviewboard page on Firefox Add-ons.
2. Click Add to Firefox.

   

3. In the pop-up, click Add.

   

4. Wait for the extension to download and install. Once installed, it appears in Firefox's extensions bar along with a success message.

   

How do I install the extension on Edge?

1. In Edge, open the zipBoard page on Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
2. Click Get.

   

3. In the pop-up, click Add Extension.

   

4. Wait for the extension to download and install. Once installed, it appears in Edge's extensions bar.

   

How do I install the extension on Safari?

1. Log in to your zipBoard account and create a new project or open an existing one.
2. Go to Files and URLs.

   

3. Click ADD.

   

4. Add a URL, then click Go to Review.

   

5. You'll be redirected to a page that helps you download the zBreviewboard extension.

Troubleshooting: the extension won't install

Why can't I install the zipBoard extension in Chrome or Firefox?

Chrome and Firefox don't let you add extensions in an incognito or private window. Open a regular browser window and install the extension again.
