Can we review documents that stay on our own servers?

Many engineering, government and enterprise teams can't upload controlled documents to an outside service. Their files have to stay in their own repository or region, such as an SVN or document server, SAP, SharePoint, or a private cloud. zipBoard supports this in two ways, so reviewers still get the full markup and approval experience.

Option 1: Send documents to zipBoard by URL

Using the zipBoard API, your system adds a document for review by its URL (a hosted PDF URL or a web page) instead of uploading a file through the browser. This is how teams connect zipBoard to an internal document server, an ERP or a document management system. See Common integration patterns.

Option 2: Enterprise deployment and data residency

For enterprise customers and pilots, zipBoard offers deployment options. These include storing documents on the customer's own servers, region-specific or private-cloud hosting, Microsoft Azure, and custom authentication. See How secure is zipBoard?. A security white paper is available on request.

What will our IT or security team ask?

Typical questions: where documents and comments are stored, which region hosts the data, how users sign in (SSO), and how access is removed. Start with How secure is zipBoard? and Sign in with SSO, then email support@zipboard.co to set up a call with our team about your requirements.
