How to Compare Two PDF Versions Side by Side in zipBoard
zipBoard lets you compare two versions of a PDF side-by-side on one screen. Scroll and zoom in sync, check text and layout updates, and manually verify if feedback from the previous version has been addressed all without downloading extra files or switching apps.
How to Compare Two PDF Versions in zipBoard
1. Locate the PDF Asset
Navigate to your project dashboard and open the PDF asset you want to review. Your PDF needs to have at least 2 versions. See how to upload a new version here.
2. Enable Version Comparison Mode
You can open the Version Comparison using either of these methods:
- From the Asset View: Click the Version dropdown menu in the upper navigation bar and select Compare Versions.

- From the Review View: Switch directly to the comparison using the Compare Switch or option in the top navigation bar without needing to return to the Asset Modal.

3. Select the Versions
Use the dual dropdown selectors above each pane to pick the two versions you want to compare. Typically, the older version goes on the left and the newer version on the right.

4. Turn Synchronized Scrolling On or Off

Click Start Sync in the top-right toolbar to scroll and zoom both PDF versions together, or turn it off if you prefer to move through each version independently.
